Because we recognise that our customers have a personal choice regarding the material that is used in our footwear. Also our Vegan friendly collection is designed to meet the requirements of Underground customers that have a preference for products that do not contain animal products.
Also we have selected a special non-animal material, Onmicro, that has the appearance and attributes of leather and will perform in the same way as leather. The collection includes many of our core styles, but it is also possible to order custom made products using Onmicro.
Our commitment to sensible manufacture is supported by our custom made service for Underground Creepers Shoes Boots.

Our custom-made service also allows customers to select any of our original designs. Using the long-term relationship with our manufacturers to build up trust and a cooperative spirit this enables us to offer customers the option to select special colours or materials to produce one pair that is custom made for them. Also there is no mass over – production and waste.
In our pursuit to proudly propagate Britain’s rebellious style heritage, we’ve turned up the dial on our responsibility. Because for 40 years we’ve tapped into the riches and sounds of British subculture; it’s our responsibility to give back in order to sustain it.

WORLD GOTH DAY
World Goth Day originated in the UK in 2009. BBC Radio 6 was looking at a number of music subcultures throughout a week in May, including Goth music. Goth DJs Cruel Britannia and Martin Oldgoth declared it Goth day. They decided that May 22nd would be the day each year to observe world goth day.
From our formative years Goth has always been an important and consistent strand of Underground.

The Original Barfly Creeper
Allocated the 005 code number, Barfly was created at the same time as the Apollo buckle creeper and was one of the very first Underground designs to be produced. Built on a sharp toe last named Meteor, the Barfly is a lace up shoe with discrete blind eyelets.
The other key features of the Barfly include its corrugated sole design, an interlace weave on the apron and in some options the contrasting panels or underlays on the apron.

They are the band that showed a newly formed New Order that it was possible to make music without guitars. Depeche Mode cites them as an influence, as does Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. David J, bassist of Bauhaus, says the band was “ one of the few post punk bands on the scene at the time who we related to.” Add to that, pretty much every musical outfit that has emerged since the early 80’s with a dark, abrasive, and danceable electronic sound.
Cabaret Voltaire were pioneers of industrial music, blending surrealist experimentation with the DIY ethos of punk and a reverence for the sonic tech geekery of Brian Eno to create - along with Throbbing Gristle- a new genre of music. They formed in the early Seventies in the fittingly brutalist landscape of Sheffield in England’s industrial north, original members Chris Watson and Richard H. Kirk. The band's name is taken from the cafe in Zurich that was the epicentre of the Dadaist art movement at the turn of the century; the movements aesthetic philosophies of absurdism and structural nihilism greatly influenced the bands approach to creating music, particularly their employment of the William Burroughs’ approved ‘cut-up’ technique.
