Underground Soundwave is our music project that pays homage to the brand’s music influence past, present and future. Since the time of its inception, Underground has always been inspired by music, it has been a big part of what we do and say. Our live music nights are curated under the banner of NEVER KNOWN. The underground is Never Known. Once the underground has become known, it is no longer underground and something new must take its place. Never Known is Underground’s fascination with the ever-altering underground.
The Never Known Music Nights are an extension of this and are a platform for new and exciting talent to be showcased through an authentic gig night. Being curated by Storm ST. Claire, each live music night is inspired by subculture, with NK007 being inspired by the modern alternative scene. NK007 featured Crashface, Carpark, YNES, and a special DJ set from Hot Drive (Girli and July Jones). The night was hosted at Jaguar Colours in Hoxton. For our full review of the Never Known music night, read our blog post.
Hailing from Coventry, YNES is an artist who plays indie rock inspired by the 00s brit-pop scene. The band were born after lockdown where lead guitarist and singer Kira started to book live gigs. Just hot off the heels from supporting Girli on her ‘Damsel in Distress’ tour, she graced the stage of the Never Known Live Music Night with her DIY inspired anthems.
Led by Scottie on lead vocals and bass, accompanied by Hattie on guitar, and Loda on drums, Carpark are an indie pop-rock outfit with heavy inspiration from the nineties rock scene. With this being seen both through their aesthetic and their indie rock music. Known for performing a fun set, they brought this same energetic presence to NK007.
The ferocious Crashface, the brainchild of lead vocalist and guitarist Charlie Hinton and bassist Otto Balfour, are a punk and alternative band ready to break through within the UK alternative scene. With inspiration from bands including ‘Bring Me the Horizon’ and ‘Placebo’, the band hold an intense stage presence when performing live. After having most recently played their headline show at Islington’s ‘The Grace’, they delivered an electrifying set at the NK007 gig.
