The heavily post-punk inspired Qlowski brought their socio-political lyricism and guitar driven music to the Soundwave Session. The band, which is led by Michele Tellarini and Cecilia Corapi, who both hail from Bologna, Italy, were heavily inspired by the progressive politics and counterculture that are seen in the city. The sombre yet powerful band performed ‘A Woman’, ‘Folk Song’, ‘Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder’ and ‘Larry’s Hair Everywhere’.

“We were thinking about what do we want to do with the music we make.

We thought about what we were missing from Italy, and it was an ever-present feeling of solidarity; that everything you do artistically has an impact on the community.”

-Mikey Tellarini
