Hysteric Glamour was founded by Nobuhiko Kitamura in 1984 when he was 21, from the start, his collections were heavily inspired by rock music, a genre and way of life that had influenced him from a young age.
Kitamura was one of the forerunners to introduce collections that combined a love of rock with fashion, leading him to rub shoulders with rock royalty including Sonic Youth, Primal Scream, Patti Smith and Courtney Love.
His artistic sensibility and attraction to vintage pornography and contemporary art is expressed through Hysteric Glamour T-shirts, which have become a staple of the brand.
He also is deeply involved in the photography industry by self-producing and publishing artwork of photographers such as Terry Richardson, Daido Moriyama and Nobuyashi Araki.
The collaboration project saw a reinterpretation of our Bowie boot and our classic wedge creeper.
